Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains how refunds work for projects and services provided by Webmaken, including website design, website development, UI/UX design, CMS development, SEO and SMO, content production, Google Business Profile management and custom Shopify development. It should be read together with our Terms & Conditions. If your proposal or agreement includes different refund terms, those terms apply.

1. Our approach

Our work is project-based and delivered in stages, so refunds are based on a simple principle: you pay for the work that has been completed. We always try to resolve concerns by talking with you first, and we encourage you to raise any issue as early as possible so we can put it right.

2. Deposits

• Most projects start with a deposit, which reserves time in our schedule and covers initial work such as discovery, planning and early design or development.
• If you cancel before any work has started, the deposit may be refunded in full or in part, minus any costs already incurred.
• Once work has started, the deposit is generally non-refundable, as it covers work already carried out.

3. Milestone payments and cancellations

• Payments for milestones that have been completed and approved are non-refundable.
• If you cancel a project part-way through a milestone, we will calculate the value of the work completed on that milestone. If you have paid more than that value, we will refund the difference.
• If we are unable to continue a project for reasons on our side, we will refund any amount paid for work that has not been delivered.
• On cancellation, we will hand over the completed work that has been paid for.

4. SEO, marketing and other ongoing services

• Ongoing services such as SEO, SMO, content production and Google Business Profile management are billed per period (for example, monthly) as agreed in the proposal.
• You can cancel these services with the notice period stated in your proposal. Cancellation stops future billing; periods that have already started or been delivered are not refunded.
• Because search and marketing results depend on factors outside our control, refunds are not given on the basis of rankings, traffic or sales results alone.

5. Non-refundable third-party costs

Costs paid to third parties on your behalf are not refundable by Webmaken, including:

• Premium themes, templates, plugins and Shopify apps
• Domain name registrations and renewals
• Hosting, email and platform plans (for example Shopify, Webflow or Wix)
• Fonts, stock photos and other licensed assets
• Advertising spend and paid promotion budgets

Some of these providers have their own refund policies, and we are happy to help you contact them where possible.

6. How to request a refund

To request a refund, please email [email protected] with:

• Your name and company name
• The project name or invoice number
• The reason for your request

7. Processing times

We aim to acknowledge refund requests within [5] business days and to give you a decision within [14] days. Approved refunds are issued using the original payment method where possible, normally within [14] days of approval. The time it takes for the funds to reach your account depends on your bank or payment provider.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The version that applies to a project is the version in force when you accepted the proposal.
